Can you unbid on Ebay?

If you go to ebay's help section, it will tell you there how to retract a bid. If you just ignore the seller and win the item, they will put a strike against your account, and three of these and you are booted off ebay permanently. The reason for this is that it costs the seller money every time someone does this, so you are better off retracting the bid asap.
