Break through bleeding??

i am currently on birth control.. Aleese (generic Aviane or something like that..) i started this pill in december.. well i have been bleeding for 2 weeks now.. i went to the doc and he said it could be the pill well it has been 2 weeks now and i'm still bleeding.. and tomorrow is when i would normally start my period so i guess i will have another week of this.. so my question is has anyone gone through this or know what it is.. i heard breakthrough is normal with in the first 4 months of a pill but 2 weeks of it seems a little crazy..
