Swollen foot from shin splint?

well i had a pain in my lower leg for 1-2 weeks. went to the doctor, diagnosed as shin splint bc x rays came back negative. he taped my leg where the pain was and wrapped it in a ace bandage, woke up and my whole foot was swollen. had it slightly elevated and iced all day walked on crutches and its still huge. what do i do bc i have a bball game tonight i need to play
